Not unlike her previous movies, this movie deals with the fear of being lost in a figurative sense. There is no story, it is very slow, emotions are often hidden, yet you care for the hero, whose life is shit whatever his social status is. This L.A. will give you creeps. The magic happens with all the tiny things he does with his daughter, dragging him up.
As expected, the cast is really good, bonus point for Elle Fanning. What was unexpected was the comedy aspect of the movie, which will make you burst out laughing a few times.
I was a bit disappointed with the soundtrack though, which is simplistic. I also thought that it may be a bit too close to Lost in Translation, but what the heck… it was really good. I will see it again as soon as I can.
I hate Sofia Coppola bz she was a bitch to my (ex-)GF but I still want to see it (oh, I have stories... GF produced her short before Virgin Suicides)
